Mr. Ted Krough
8 Country Club Gate
Pacific Grove, Calif.93950

Dear Mr. Krough:

It was most considerate of you to write and express your interest in having a
pool at The Sequoias. Your letter arrived at a most opportune time, to help us
in our considerations.

One of our concerns has to do with whether or not there will be a continuing
interest in having a pool on the part of our newer residents and the fact that
you, at least, will be interested is a reassuring sign.

At the moment we are struggling with the problem of financing the pool and
jacuzzi. Many of our older people came into The Sequoias on fixed incomes and
inflation has increased the costs so much that they are quite unable to face
their proportionate share of the costs. A few of us are considering the
possibility of being able to contribute enough to cover the construction costs,
and we are considering making a monthly charge for the use of the pool.

In view of the financial problem, we can not promise you that we will have a
pool when you join us, but we are trying.

Many thanks for your letter.

			Sincerely yours,

			Arthur L. Samuel
